AI Starter Resources and Choosing Tools

Arjun

Highlights from the video

Hey there! 👋

This is Arjun, Founder of Xperian.  Welcome back to a fresh new DDC Weekly. There are some major updates this time.

Updates

First thing first, the Newsletters are now more easily accessible and up-to-date on the Xperian website. Sorry to keep you waiting for the last few weeks, but we had to make some critical under-the-hood changes and decisions that will make it easy for all, to access more of upcoming Guides, Newsletters and Courses in one place.

Then there are some visual upgrades. To keep it short, it all just means a more clearer expression of what we've always wanted Xperian to be — simple, timeless, bold and bright. It also marks a signal for upcoming series of learning material and initiatives to come. And what better time to push these upgrades than the start of Spring season (India)? ;)

This Week:

Our focus today is on a question we get asked frequently:

"Where do I start with understanding AI and how to know which tool to use for a particular scenario?"

To help you navigate the vast landscape of AI, we have curated a list of resources that have consistently shown great results and stood the test of time.

Must-Read Books on AI

Simply AI by DK Publications: This book provides small snippets of critical information about AI, its history, classifications, and uses.

A Thousand Brains, A New Theory of Intelligence by Jeff Hawkins: This book wonderfully bridges human intelligence and machine intelligence.

Co-intelligence: Living and Working with AI by Ethan Malik: This book provides a unique approach to AI, using different personas such as AI as a tutor, coach, writer, and creative.

How AI Will Change Your Life by Patrick Dixon: This book provides a bird's eye view on how various industries can be impacted by the advent of AI.

AI Tools to Get Started

Research and Analysis: Perplexity and ChatGPT are ideal for all sorts of research and analysis. They provide structured and verified information.

Writing: ChatGPT 4.0 and Dot by the new computer are excellent for creative writing, ideating, and brainstorming.

SEO and Marketing: Copy.ai and Jasper can align with your brand's tone and language, optimize for SEO, and generate multiple formats.

Visual Graphic Artifacts: Mid Journey and Canva Magic Studio are great for creating complex illustrations with minimal effort.

Video Production: Runway is excellent for text-to-video synthesis, automated editing, and lip-sync accuracy.

Coding and Development: Cloud by Anthropic, Cursor AI, and other similar tools are great for generating, debugging, and stitching code parts together.

Remember, the best way to start with AI is by picking up tools relevant to your current context and projects. We hope this guide helps you take your first steps into the world of AI. Catch you next week with another exciting topic in the realm of AI!

Cheers,
Arjun
