Highlights from the video
Hey there! 👋
Welcome back to an another DDC Weekly. This week we delve into a question not frequently asked but is an important one to look into.
"How do I not lose my ground as a Designer when creating Digital Products in the era of Gen-AI?"
There are a few aspects I've seen repeatedly play a major role in creating Digital Products that stand out, whether from the projects I take up or from other examples from the industry, as summarised below.
1. Critical Thinking
Being Critical about your thoughts such as asking better questions or thinking 10 steps ahead will help you see the big picture or a point of view you haven't seen. It can often lead to surprising outcomes and may save you from doing the same things repeatedly and expecting better results.
Examples: Google Voice Assistant, Spotify Discover Weekly
2. Curious Action
Put your curiosities to action by making time for Play & Experiments and Cross-Pollinating Ideas. It can be just the thing needed to solve a challenging problem and breaks the homogenous solutions and brings the creative solutions only Humans can produce.
Examples: Tweetie Pull to Refresh, Google Health Mammograms
3. Fundamentals
Powering your imagination or fascination with fundamentals makes the ideas and solutions go further and see the light of the day than purely chasing novelty. Often, those are the things regarded as novel.
Examples: Split Panels in Gen-AI Tools, Variable Fonts
Hope these aspects help you add significant value in your journey. Catch you next week with another exciting topic in the realm of AI!
Cheers,
Arjun
